To help you plan your stay, here's everything you need to know about sourcing food and groceries:
Option 1 — Supermarket shopping in the city
The nearest full-service supermarkets are La Torre and Walmart, located in the city — perfect for pantry staples, beverages, snacks, and everyday provisions. We recommend stocking up on your way in for a seamless arrival.
For a more gourmet experience, Guatemala City offers excellent specialty stores, delis, and fine food shops where you can find artisan products, imported goods, premium cuts, wines, and specialty ingredients — a great stop if you're coming from the capital before heading to Casa Soluna.
Option 2 — Local shopping with Ruben, our House Manager
For the freshest local experience, Ruben — Casa Soluna's house manager — is happy to do your grocery shopping and source fresh seafood directly from the fishermen in Las Lisas: fish, shrimp, and local catch brought in the same morning. Ruben's shopping service is available for a suggested tip of $15 per day, which goes directly to him for his time and dedication.

Important: Las Lisas operates entirely on cash. Please make sure to bring enough cash to cover your groceries and provisions, as card payments are not accepted at local markets or with local vendors.

If you'd like Ruben to handle your shopping, simply send your list in advance and he'll have everything ready for your arrival.
