Expectations Surpassed

The Ocean Retreat was truly an exceptional retreat. From the exceptional views and close proximity to the ever changing ocean, this home has everything to offer. Upon entering the family room and open plan kitchen (we called the great room) surrounded by glass and views of the ocean and coastline on all sides, we immediately became relaxed,, that is after our initial excitement. The entire house feels brand new with all the features and conveniences you want and need. Our favorite things about our stay here include, the gas fireplace which heated the “great room”, the outdoor deck wrapping around the house and extending out to the ocean, the heated floors in the bathrooms, the extremely quiet and private location, the amazing sunrises, the coastal walk out the back door, and the resident birds and wallabies. We didn’t even use the heated pool. We fell in love with Tasmania and a big part of that was having such a beautiful and comfortable place to come home to after a day of exploring Tassie. We will be back!”

Ocean Retreat Falmouth

We had a great time and enjoyed our stay! Unusual rectangular structure, spectacular views! The living room has floor to ceiling windows which bring the ocean in. The deck hangs over the yard, dominating the views. There is a small lap pool that we did not use, but which is also well positioned with a view. The rooms are spacious and convenient, each with their own bathrooms. We also liked the direct access to the rock beach below, the orange/red boulders which give the “Bay of Fires” its name.”

Falmouth is a hidden treasure

A spectacular ocean front property in a tiny quiet town off the grid- now been twice and loved it both times! The owner Nigel was also a delight to deal with.”

Gorgeous spot in Tasmania!

Tasmania has so much to offer and this home in Falmouth is a great spot to take advantage of it all. Gorgeous views and very comfortable beds. We appreciated the fireplace, heated bathroom floors, heated towel racks and the heating pads on the beds. Very cozy! ”

A Whale of a Time

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Ocean Retreat. The views are simply breathtaking but the added entertainment of whales on four different days was exceptional, including whales that were breaching!! A perfect location to explore the north east of Tas and the home provides for every need so well. Thanks again Nigel.”

This is a true high-end property, with every detail taken care of so all you have to do it utterly unwind. Wake up to a crescendo of light over the ocean. You dont really need to go anywhere with the beach right outside your door, but a short drive away are the world-renowned Bay of Fires, Wineglass Bay and the ancient Evercreech forest - which is truly some of the most unspoilt natural beauty I have seen in along time”
