Designed for relaxed lakeside living, the home offers panoramic water views, a large flat yard, a small private beach area, and a private dock for enjoying quiet mornings, sunny afternoons, and evenings by the water.

Inside, the home feels bright, comfortable, and welcoming. The main level features an open layout with multiple living areas, all oriented toward lake views. Guests can unwind by the fireplace, enjoy a movie in one of the seating areas, gather around the dining space, or move easily out to the patio. The spacious kitchen includes open shelving and plenty of counter space, making it well suited for casual meals and lakeside entertaining.

The home accommodates up to six adult guests across three bedrooms and two full bathrooms, plus one half bathroom. The bedroom layout includes one king bedroom, one queen bedroom, and one bedroom with two full beds, offering flexible sleeping arrangements for families, friends, or couples traveling together.

Outdoor living is the heart of the Goose Nest experience. Guests can grill by the lake, gather around the fire pit under the tree canopy lights, or relax in the seasonal hot tub, available October through April. The outdoor entertaining area includes a TV, creating an easy setting for game days, movie nights, or evenings spent outside.

For time on the water, guests have access to two children’s kayaks, one adult kayak, a two-person canoe, and a paddleboard. Guests may also bring or rent a boat to tie up at the private dock, with an outboard motor recommended due to shallow water of approximately four feet. Whether paddling along the lake, birdwatching from the yard, golfing nearby, or simply enjoying the view, Goose Nest offers a peaceful Lake Oconee stay with comfort, recreation, and a strong connection to the water.

Good to Know: The hot tub is seasonal and available October through April. The dock can accommodate a boat, though an outboard motor is recommended due to shallow water of approximately four feet.

Beautiful lake home

I had a very relaxing time at this beautiful home. The lake is closer to the shallow end so not a lot of boat traffic making it very quiet. Kitchen was well stocked and the entire home was spotless inside. Had a great time bird watching from the dock. Publix is only a few miles away to stock up on food. Highly recommend.”

Awesome place

Perfect Lakehouse Getaway

We've had a great stay at Goose Nest Cottage. Travelling from Australia for business, we enjoyed an ideal lakefront piece of nature in the perfect spot - just an hour from Atlanta and Macon. The lovely cottage has all the comforts of home, plus the charm and fun features such as the canoes, grill and campfire. The views from the master bedroom, living room, and upstairs are so peaceful and beautiful. While the wildlife on the other hand was non-stop entertainment - squirrels, chipmunks, blue jays, robins, and deer constantly peaking out and walking by the calm lakefront backdrop. It's exactly what we imagined an American lakehouse would be like. Great spot for a peaceful or adventure-filled break with all the quality comforts of home. ”
