Fabulous stay!

Our daughter and her family stayed at Rocking Horse Acres over the Christmas holiday. They found the house clean, comfortable and full of character and amenities, including a well-equipped kitchen, hot tub and pool. Communication with the owners was easy, and they were very accommodating, even offering the children a ride on their beautiful horses. They thoroughly enjoyed their stay at this beautiful ranch property and would recommend it to anyone looking for a home base to explore the San Diego coast or as a destination unto itself.”

Outstanding Home !

What a treat - having had Steve / Susie and family visit our Thirdhome in New Zealand, we knew we had to make a visit to their beautiful home, and what a fantastic couple of weeks we had ! So perfectly set up for our family of 5 which having now returned to New Zealand, we can honestly say was one of the most enjoyable family holidays we have had. Great outdoor spaces along with pool / spa were ideal in what was two weeks of wall-to-wall Californian sunshine. Great shops etc nearby, and we loved paying Encinitas a visit and checking out some of the local bars. Would love to return again ! ”

Wonderful return stay

The saying goes that we had such a good stay that we would return...well we did go back. This was our second stay at Rocking Horse Acres. The house worked just as well for our family gathering and we had an amazing time.”

We had a wonderful stay. Our group had eight people and there was plenty of space for all of us to enjoy ourselves inside. We also enjoyed the outdoor California room, fire pit, and lawn games. During our stay we visited Legoland, Safari Park, San Diego Botanic Park, Disneyland, and the beach in Encinitas. Thank you for our wonderful stay. ”

Great place for staycation for us

We enjoyed the stay very much. The place is spacious. Kids friendly. My grandchildren love the little play house in the upper floor. The gazebo at the back is just the right place for a cozy breakfast. We spent our evening roasting marshmellow in the fire pit. ”

We can't say enough about Rocking Horse Acres. From our first contact till leaving we were made to feel welcome and well cared for. The location and house were fantastic. Well equipped and beautifully appointed. We were fortunate to enjoy the above average temps this Thanksgiving so pool hot tub and beach were enjoyed. Temps hit 80 on Thanksgiving day! This is a wonderful family home. Our grandchildren loved visiting the horses! A magical time was enjoyed by all. Thank you for this great visit. ”

Wonderful Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful week, the home is perfectly located for several outings. The owners were great, decorated and set the table for our thanksgiving meal, made us pumpkin cookies, and left us passes for the aquarium, and let us use their state park pass!!! The hot tub was nice and hot, the pool was cold at this time of year, but perfect since we used it as a cold plunge. The house had everything we needed. Many outdoor spaces to eat and lounge. The kids enjoyed a trail ride on the horses! We had an accident on the last night involving ink, and the owners were very gracious and understanding. Great place for kids :) ”
