Halcyon House

Halcyon is a word that means happiness, great success, and prosperity and is often used while describing a time of the past… the name of this charming home goes perfectly with the rich history of the town of Amador City. A gold rush town just minutes from the Shenandoah Valley wine region and Highway 49 creates the perfect in-between ambiance of California’s wine and gold countries. Halcyon House is only steps away from Old Highway 49 shops, restaurants, and wine tasting, making its location prime. With only a little over 200 residents, the secluded peace the town offers is endless.

As you walk onto the property, you will be delighted with this yellow Victorian home. From its charming front porch, you have a beautiful view of a small pond and white picket fence, which adds to the relaxing ambiance of the idyllic land. Step inside the home, and you will be pleasantly surprised by the cozy fireplace and comfortable furniture in the living room. The kitchen is large and delightful, with black and white checkered curtains that allow sunlight to pour in while you look out at the back patio. A Keurig coffee machine completes the chef’s kitchen, including everything you may desire during your stay.

The bedroom space is ample, with the master having a king bed and en suite that serves as a powder bath with a separate entrance at the foot of the stairs. At the top of the stairs, there is a hall bathroom and two more bedrooms. One of the bedrooms features a queen bed with a daybed in the dormer, while the other has a king bed with a daybed in the alcove.

The backyard provides the perfect privacy and storybook ambiance for meals and conversation amongst the family at the dining table. The Adirondack chairs offer the ideal place to relax and cozy up with a blanket and a good book.
