Selong Selo is beautiful! The resort property is new. The restaurant, bar and common pool area is gorgeous overlooking the bay and ocean. Lombok is less crowded than Bali and the beaches are gorgeous. The culture is completely different but like Bali, the people are incredibly kind. A bit more laid back slower paced than Bali overall, which we thoroughly enjoyed escaping the traffic madness of Bali. Selong Beach is just a short 10 minute shuttle from the hotel. You can catch a free shuttle 2 times a day from the resort or simply book a Grab (like Uber) back to the resort when you want to return. The food at the resort is fantastic and there are some restaurants on Selong Beach to change up for lunch or dinner. We did a day trip to the Gili Islands from here. It is a bit of a drive but a beautiful day. We also hired a driver to take us to Kuta for the day for some shopping, beaches and dinner. You do not need a car and can take tours from the resort which they can arrange. Selong Beach is great for surf beginners but there are guides that can take experienced surfers out to a bigger break. Don't miss the farmers walking their buffalo herds down Selong Beach on Sundays at sunset. Our Villa was immaculate and very new and modern. Filtered cold and hot water in the house was a plus. The staff was great at accommodating my daughter's food allergies and we got to know the entire staff by name throughout the week. This is an incredible resort destination worth visiting if you are thinking about going to Indonesia. The Clark Family - California”
