May 2026A sumptuous and spacious delight
We all loved our stay at the Old Vicarage. In the end we used 5 of the 6 bedrooms and all 5 bathrooms. Or mixed group of friends and family was happily absorbed into the space and even though it is so large, it felt homely. The house is beautiful and has been luxuriously appointed with gorgeous soft furnishings. With four reception rooms we could all spread out and do different things. Unfortunately the poor weather meant we didn’t make much use of the large and well maintained garden but it was lovely to see it from the many windows. The kitchen is well equipped and we made some great meals - all gathering around the big table next to the kitchen for feasting. Handy too to have plenty of parking and to be close to trains (Bodmin Parkway) and planes (my mum flew into Newquay). In the neighbourhood we lived visiting the Eden project, Tintagel castle, Paidstow and Bodmin Jail. We had a lovely walk along the coast to Paidstow for lunch at the Rick Stein cafe then got the bus back. The church next to the house is also very pretty. ”
