Welches Mountain Lodge at Mt. Hood

Highlights:
• Backs directly onto Mt. Hood National Forest

• 5 min. walk to the Salmon River

• Near Timberline, Skibowl, Meadows, and alpine trails

Set on more than 2 private acres in Welches, Oregon, Welches Mountain Lodge is a spacious mountain retreat designed for families, retreats, business gatherings, and large groups. The lodge backs directly onto Mt. Hood National Forest and sits just a five-minute walk from the Salmon River, creating a private, nature-rich setting with easy access to year-round Mt. Hood recreation.

The main living area is located upstairs and centers around a generous open-concept layout with warm wood ceilings, expansive windows, a large sectional, and a striking log-slab dining table. The state-of-the-art kitchen is designed for large-group ease, with two dishwashers, generous prep space, and the essentials needed for shared meals. A massive sliding glass wall opens to an expansive covered deck with outdoor seating, dining space, BBQ grills, and propane fireplaces, creating a seamless connection between the lodge interiors and the surrounding forest.

Across two levels, the 6,000-square-foot lodge includes 7 bedrooms, 8 full bathrooms, and 1 half bathroom, accommodating up to 15 guests. The upper level features two primary suites with king beds, a third bedroom with two queen beds, and four full bathrooms. The ground floor includes four private two-room suites, each with a king bedroom, living room with TV and kitchenette, and a full bathroom with access from both the bedroom and living area. This layout gives groups the rare combination of togetherness, privacy, and flexibility under one roof.

Outdoor living is central to the experience. The spacious covered deck frames foothill and forest views, while the large covered hot tub comfortably fits 12+ adults for post-hike or après-ski relaxation. The lodge also includes two sets of laundry machines, a dedicated hot tub area, plenty of parking, eight climate-controlled areas, two propane tankless water heaters, and an automatic propane generator that comes on shortly after a power outage, adding comfort and confidence for mountain stays in every season.

From this Welches setting, guests are close to the Salmon River, Bonanza Trailhead, Mirror Lake, Trillium Lake, Ramona Falls, Timberline Lodge, Mt. Hood Skibowl, Mt. Hood Meadows, and nearby restaurants and cafés. Whether the stay is built around skiing, hiking, river walks, executive retreat time, or simply gathering with family in the mountains, Welches Mountain Lodge offers the space, privacy, and setting to make the experience feel effortless and memorable.
