The resort was lovely with beautiful swimming pools and gardens. Staff were great. The condo has comfortable beds and a nice view. The interior and sleeper couch is quite dated and probably needs an update. All in all we had a great vacation! ”

Very surprised this resort is in Third Home portfolio. Very run down rooms. Old furniture, musty smelling rooms, not clean, food very poor quality. ”

The whole resort was amazing. Lots of pools and restaurants to choose from. the beach was right there and you can walk for miles. The 2 bedroom suite was perfect for us and the entire suite was very spacious. I'd recommend anyone to come here. ”

Hacienda Del Mar-Los Cabos

This property is an affiliate membership. On arrival we were told our room was not ready 4pm. The timeshare team had time to sit us down and talk time share membership. We were original quite a distance from the beach so we asked to move rooms to be closer to beach if available. They said yes but you have to come to a timeshare presentation and are required to bring credit card. The presentation included VIP prices for activities, but as we tried to book a fishing trip with concierge there was no availability. We went online and booked the same trip with different company for same VIP price advertised from timeshare sales team. If you booked a taxi to town, the hotel charged $50 usd return, but if you booked uber or own taxi $25 usd return. Our room was very clean spacious all the amenities, room service, restaurants, swimming pool was great 👍 .We couldn't swim on beach, strong undercurrent and coral reef near shore line, the beach was great to chill and walk along, with beautiful warm temperatures. The staff were very friendly and served with a smile. The property photos shown in the Thirdhome marketing brochure are the time share owners apartments as a non member we had little to no chance of experiencing next level at Hacienda Del Mar. ”

Fun Place

Beach, grounds, and pool areas were good. Restaurants were just OK. The supposed Asian Fusion restaurant was very poor and extremely overpriced. The rooms were old but clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Golf course was very good.”

If you care at all about the view or the decor of your room do not stay here. If you spend everyday at the pool and couldn't care less about the room this is perfect. The room was a dingy time warp from 1985. The view was of a giant wall that will be the new Four Seasons resort. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with mature tropical plants with fountains and stone walkways. The pools are located right on the ocean with amazing views. Only one tiny jacuzzi was functioning when we were there. We would not stay here again unless we were guaranteed a different area of the resort with a remodeled room and a view.”

Very Very Disappointing -- Dont Waste Your Keys

Top Five Reasons Not To Waste Your Keys By Staying Here.... 1. There is nothing "Presidential" about the "Suite". It is a garden-variety 1980's style time-share room. 2. Dont trust the photos. Your furniture will look nothing like the pictures. 3. Dont trust the photos. Your view will look nothing like the pictures. And you wont have a hot tub. But if you like looking at construction sites, you will love the view. 4. Bring lotsa money. The "nice" restaurants are very overpriced. Although I will admit that the breakfast buffet is amazing! 5. Plan to walk a lot. As a non-revenue guest, you will be put in one of the old buildings at the far back corner of the resort. A long walk from the beach, restaurants, bars, pools, etc.”

Hacienda del Mar Presidential Suite - 2 Bedroom Suite - March 2022

We were originally put in a 2 BR Unit which faced a construction site next to the patio with no ocean view. We requested an alternative unit and were moved to an other unit facing landscaped grounds. Presidential Suite acceptable but not "Very Presidential". Overall the resort has lush and well maintained landscaping and buildings. Service was friendly and acceptable. Note: Swimming in the Ocean is not safe and generally not allowed, disappointing. Note Also: Units we occupied did not have dishwashers, toasters, ovens or other amenities that one would expect. Restaurants were very so so and overpriced. We went to the Italian Buffet Night - food was dreadfull. Steak restaurant was (just) acceptable and expensive for quality. Lunch and beach restaurants were acceptable with good service. Otherwise go out to dine - many great places in Cabos and San Jose to dine and party. Difficult to get decent wines at resort (unless you like Mexican and similar wines). Note: Resort was very busy, pools crowded with shortage of loungers. I understand many of the guests had purchased at sister resort Solaz which was closed due to re-construction and were placed in this resort.”

Beach and grounds were excellent. Restaurants were great. Room was dated and needed updating. Construction occurring next door during our stay so that wasn't great. ”

Our Room Was Burglarized

OK, it my fault. I didn't use the safe. The thief got $3,000 in cash. This is clearly an inside job. When I contacted Security, they admitted that this happens from time to time. We wanted to see the hall camera footage which would show who entered the room. It was "unavailable". They even had the audacity to ask that they be allowed to search our luggage and car to see if the money was there. We agreed just so they could not use this as an excuse. Needless to say, we will NOT be going back. As other Third Home guests have noted, the rooms are dated and can have a smell. There was a distinct sewage odor outside the building. The restaurants serve standard tourist fare at standard tourist prices. The location, pool area, beach and staff are very nice. If your expectations are low, this place is just OK.”

Needs improving

The resort rooms definitely need updating. We were originally put in a suite where the AC did not work correctly, the refrigerator did not work, the phone did not work and it faced directly on 24-hour construction with heavy machinery. When we asked, we were moved to another room which was an improvement. We wonder if we were given the first room because we are not owners there, but used a keyless stay.”

The Hacienda Delmar staff could not have been nicer, but there was nothing presidential about this two bedroom suite! ... Marginal Oceanview, dated and a bit dark. The front desk was very accommodating and moved us to an ocean front unit. Heated swimming pool and hot tubs were a plus. ”

Our stay at the Sheridan Hacienda del Mar

We enjoyed our stay very much! The resort is beautiful, and probably because of the Corona virus, it wasn't too crowded. Our only complaint is that the photos on Third Home are stock photos, and don't show the actual unit we stayed in. We expected to have a spa on the outdoor deck as the photos show, but the management said that was only available on the 3 bedroom penthouse unit. I believe that Third Home guests don't get the better units, closer to the beach and pools. Our unit was pretty far back, but still very nice. Furnishings were basic, but clean and functional. We would consider staying here again, but might want to upgrade to another Third Home property in Cabo such as the Grand Solmar, or Palmilla. Thanks! Phyllis and Rick Weiner”

Two bedroom with three baths was great. Good location with a view. The entire complex was very crowded and finding a place at one of the pools was a challenge. We were able to see many whales doing their tail slaps. ”

Comfortable stay - great service

We enjoyed our stay at Hacienda del Mar. It was a large, comfortable condo with bright colors that felt beach-y and reinforced that we were on vacation. We would happily return. ”

Expensive Resort

Hacienda Del Mar is a Sheraton Resort. It is very nice. We called ahead to let them know we would be checking in on day two of our 7 day stay and called that morning to make sure it was ready. When we arrived they said it wasn’t ready, even though we arrived a day late and we were told it was ready. They said they were freshining our room and it would be ready in 30 minutes. Over an hour later we went to our room and they had painters painting our room. Since we had another condo also booked at another Resort, we left and came back for just two nights. Our room was nice, we had an ocean view. There was no coffee pot in the condo, but when we called they brought us one. Resort prices for food and drink excessively high. Dinner at Pitahayas was so amazingly good. I think one of the best meals I have ever had. A must to eat there. Service is excellent. They will set up beach chairs and umbrella for no extra charge, except tips. WiFi free for only one device. Dissapointing. ”

Great Resort- Inconsistent room quality

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hacienda Del Mar. The resort is spacious with so much to offer you never have to leave. The food was excellent and the staff very hospitable and friendly. We reserved 2 units for the same week and found them to be in very different condition. 1 was outdated in decor and had a very musty, mildew smell to it. The other was updated and clean without odor. In the future I'd want to be assured of an updated, odorless unit which may be difficult in a vacation club or while booking through 3rd home. We were lucky that we had enough room in the larger unit and didn't need to stay in the other. It sat vacant. We had a great vacation, loved the 1 unit we stayed in and had a great week. I just thing it's fair to note that had we not had the second unit our feelings would've been quite different.”

Family Friendly with Exceptional Service

We visited Hacienda del Mar the week prior to Christmas and had an amazing visit. The ocean side resort is a combination of a Sheraton hotel, luxury suites and small casitas arrange along a private golf course. The service is outstanding in all areas of the resort including the hospitality team, housekeeping, restaurants and maintenance. We really enjoyed the different pools throughout the property and visited all of the restaurants during our time on site. The Kids Klub is next to the kid friendly pool and smoothie shack. The staff at the Klub were kind, responsible and very caring for our 5 year old daughter. There is not a piece of sand out of place on this property with a full time staff managing the breath taking gardens. Security is discreet and the property is very safe and relaxing. We really enjoyed being in Mexico right before the holidays and the property was decorated with modern cultural holiday art and decorations.......incredible. We were pleasantly surprised each and every day with the extended services the staff offered, the variety of a large well maintained resort and the natural beauty of Mexico in the architecture, food and ambiance that Hacienda del Mar provides. This is a wonderful resort for all demographics and located between the airport and the Cabo marina. What a magical, wonderful place to visit and we can't wait to go back!”
