Wonderful Stay At The Residences!

We had a wonderful stay at The Residences at Hacienda Encantada! Hard to beat the views at this resort and the central location. Our butler Clemente was there to ensure all of our needs were met and the staff in general were really great. We were really happy with this property and enjoyed the privacy of our own pool and hot tub yet still having access to all the resort amenities. A few highlights off the property were a sunset cruise on a catamaran through Cabo Adventures and the Art Walk in San Jose. We would definitely recommend a stay at The Residences and would love to come back soon!”

Beautiful Villa at Friendly Resort

Our three bedroom villa was beautiful. Spacious and clean. We were surprised that the living room tv had not yet been upgraded to a smart tv. The outdoor space was fantastic - pool, spa, firepit, and bbq. Only disappointment - it did not have a view, but the upper floors of the villa did. The resort does not have a swimmable beach, but the pools are very nice, and the bars and restaurants were above average. The gym was outstanding. The staff throughout the resort were attentive and super friendly. ”

First Christmas Vacation Away from Home (Dec 21-28, 2024)

Our family of 6 absolutely loves Hacienda Encantada, Residences. It is so private and peaceful that it has become our home away from home. You can choose to eat at the resort, go off the resort, or cook right at home (indoor and outdoor kitchens). We did a little of each. We spent most days in the back yard- pool, hot tub, and outdoor kitchen, although the place is big enough for everyone to enjoy their own time as well. We absolutely love our concierge, Clemente, and our daily housekeeper, Ortencia, was amazing too. Both of them along with the staff that takes care of the outdoors and the front desk staff (golf carts, ect.) makes this place extra special. We have already booked for next NYE and hoping to add Christmas week again too!”

We loved our stay and the quality of the property. It was spacious with wonderful features and staff. Resort environment in a private house. The pool tiles need some maintenence - my son was cut on a broken edge. The beds need better pillows. Small square pillows were not comfortable. Invest in some king sized pillows. ”

Great location with beautiful views in all directions from the lobby and several restaurants. Residences were laid out very efficiently and perfect for family and friends. People were very friendly. Biggest shortcoming is the age of the facility and there were noticeable signs of wear and tear. Also, the service at the restaurants was not up to the standards of the other high end resorts where we have stayed, and the food was only average”

And if you don't want to drive, they have a shuttle that takes you to their sister property located at the marina. If you get a chance to book this residence, do it!!”

My husband and I travel a lot. We stay only in villas, with private pools and butler service. Now I'm not saying this to brag but to share what our knowledge and expectations are. These Residences and Hacienda Encantada exceeded all! The villa was beautiful and sooo private. The pool was the perfect temperature (warm!) and the view was spectacular. The butler service was perfectly on-point. Stefania was soooo above-and-beyond helpful. Her goal every day was to ensure we were well taken care of - she even went to the store to get me name-brand allergy medicine - out of care!! Super sweet - ask for her! And tip her well! Because she deserves it. We loved that housekeeping and pool maintenance weren't intrusive like we find in most other places. We always had our privacy. The location is minutes from all the restaurants we frequent when we go to Cabo - all on the corridor. Just a perfect vacation.”

Family Christmas Memories

This was our first visit to Hacienda Encantada after staying at Esperanza several years ago. The homes are great- laid out perfectly for families with the master bedroom on the same floor as the kitchen. We actually got to stay in two different homes because the first one had a leak in the ceiling and the bathroom flooded but they offered to move us and although that was a hassle it was pretty seamless as it was just a few doors down. I booked several excursions with the pre-arrival concierges which was helpful and we also did the premium all-inclusive option which was definitely the way to go. Most of the food was phenomenal which was surprising for all-inclusive and the premium drinks were great. Our butler, Fanny went above and beyond with anything we needed. She helped look for a lost wallet and she even had decorations put up for one our birthdays. All in all a great memorable trip!”

Enchanting Vista Encantada Villa

We had a marvelous time & we loved the villa and having our own pool and hot tub! It was my 20 ish-something visit to Cabo and we all really enjoyed Hacienda Encantada resort as a whole and it was wonderful staying in a villa. We loved the outdoor gazebo/bar and BBQ. We never went to the resort pools other than for lunches. The gated villas are not far from the main resort and easily walkable. Our butler surprised us twice when she came to pick us up in a golf cart and drive us to dinner. Villa 17 was beautifully decorated in an authentic Mexican style and the kitchen had everything we needed. We did the premium all inclusive for 5 days and we thought the food was fabulous. The views from Risco’s and Mestizo are phenomenal. It’s nice that 4 or 5 restaurants in the marina are included in the all inclusive. We had lunch at Jack’s and dinner at Baja Lobster when we did our whale watching tour. The weather was perfect the first week of April and there were still plenty of whales. I would stay here again!”

We absolutely loved our stay at the 3 bedroom villa. First night in my wife and I got into the hot tub which was a perfect temperature for a March night. As we got out I decided to take a jump into the pool to get the rush of the colder water after getting out of the hot tub. Much to my surprise there was no cold sensation as the pool was perfectly warm and remained that way our entire stay. The villa is spacious after passing through the lovely courtyard with a peaceful waterfall. We enjoyed the outdoor shower in the master bedroom until we turned the handle to get in and the door wouldn't open! There we stood naked as Jaybirds and unable to leave the shower. As panic set in on my wife the handyman/protector in me kicked in and I was able to manipulate the handle open. Nothing like getting locked out naked to make your heart skip a beat. Loved the gazebo bbq and mini kitchen next to the pool. The yard was nicely appointed with plenty of seating for all of our visitors. Daniel the butler was great and took care of our every need. This one's a keeper !!”

Our best ThirdHome experience so far!

Unbelievable!!! We were supposed to stay in a 3 bedroom villa, but somehow their computer system dropped our reservation and when we arrived, the 3 bedroom villa wasn't available. As soon as the resort learned of the problem, they immediately got upper management involved. This was all before we even knew that there was a problem. So the resort manager approached me, clearly and calmly explained what had happened and then he offered to put us in the 6,000 SF (almost) penthouse Presidential Suite. To further enhance our stay, he 100% comped our every meal (they had 17 restaurants on the property), all of our drinks (including unlimited top shelf alcohol), 50% off of all spa services and he assigned us a personal driver with a new Cadillac Escalade and our personal concierge. We had 5 recently retired adults in our group and it was by far the best vacation that we have ever had! It may have helped that we arrived in a stretch limousine (I have a friend that lives in Cabo and he hooked us up with a limo for the same cost as van transportation). When we arrived at the resort, guests poured out of the lobby and gathered around the limo taking pictures etc... They must have thought that we were celebrities. :-) Maybe that's why they gave us absolutely 5-Star treatment. We will definitely go back to the Residences at Hacienda Encantada again!!”

Best Butler ever!

5* for our Butler Enrique who was fantastic!. The unit was very nice, comfy beds. The pool and outdoor bar area downstairs with a large patio upstairs was a great layout for us. 2 bedrooms downstairs and 1 upstairs. The resort adult pool was fun. Unfortunately every food outlet, including room service, was far below par and would likely prevent me from returning. Fresko grocery store is very close with high quality items. I ordered online and they delivered directly to the villa (including wine, beer, spirits) with the assistance of Enrique. They are starting to build a Four Seasons next door. ”

The only negative I could say is that Hacienda Encantada sits on a very rocky coastline so beach time was minimal and the beachfront pool was always full. Had a fantastic week at Hacienda Encantada. The resort was in very good shape. Occupancy was down due to COVID, but it was extremely well staffed. Restaurants were very good. Our butler, Guillermo, was fantastic. He really went out of his way to take care of all reservations and any small issues that came up. Wonderful family vacations

We were two families and had plenty of room in this wonderful villa. It’s the best of both worlds to have your own home but also all the amenities of a resort. I would put this property in the same class as a Marriott or Westin. The food exceeded our expectations and menu/ drink prices were low for what you normally expect. You can play a practice golf course for $25 and that was perfect for our armature golfers. The best part about this resort is the floating jumping house obstacle course. My kids spent hours on it everyday. Kayaks, paddle boards, tennis is all included. The resort has a no tipping policy. The only thing you might want to consider is water safety. If you have a wandering-non swimming child, I might reconsider this property. I would also note that this is a little in-land from the ocean. The lagoon is so spectacular that it didn’t bother us. We loved having our own dock and being able to swim so much. We also did a daily run down to the ocean for the sets but is a mile.,You do have access to the beach but it’s not really set up to swim and there is a construction project goin on where you would be lounging. ”

AMAZING Outdoor Space

We just got back from HE and had a fabulous time. We stayed in the 3 BR villa and can't wait to go back. We had to cut our time short due to another issue but Loved our time there. The staff is really great over most of the property. The food was typical I think of an All Inclusive --even though we did not participate in that--you can buy an all inclusive meal plan. There were some very good restaurants and some that were average/typical but you could always find something you wanted with so many restaurants/bars on site. There is a small "grovery" store on site that you could get basic supplies from which was awesome. The only downside was-- Our villa came with a "butler" for the week although we never saw him except for the time we called him so we could meet him. We asked him to check on something (camel rides) for us several times and he never got back--but not a big deal. I have heard other people say their butler was awesome. I still would highly recommend the resort and the villa. The layout of the villa is fabulous. We stayefd ina 2 story villa (Bldg 12) in the back row. The top level has great ocean views. The upstairs deck was perfect for coffee in the morning and we even saw a humpback whale one morning. The King suite upstairs was amazing and had an outdoor shower. The master King dowstairs has a huge bathroom along with another bedroom with 2 queens and another nice bathroom. The downstairs also has a den with a sleeper sofa and another full bathroom . There is even an outside bathroom at the pool. I can't finish without saying tha the Outdoor space is AMAZING--very spacious and perfect for large families/groups traveling together. Just remember--based on where you are--noise does travel and when you are outside you can hear neighbors talking--although it was never an issue for us. ”

While it's typical to be tricked into sitting through a timeshare sales-pitch, I didn't expect it through this platform. The check in was at the main lobby and was very disorganized. Also, 50.00 round trip cab ride to and from town added up pretty quickly. ”

Amazing villa, however...

The 3 bedroom villa was beautiful. It had plenty of room for the entire family and everything was well maintained. The pool was a comfortable temperature. There is no separate heater for the spa so it never really gets warm. Our butler was the best! 5 stars for this villa. Now for the bad. The restaurants are average to terrible. I would not recommend any of them. The food is bad/terrible and the service is spotty. The pizza place took over an hour to bring our order and the place was practically empty. The food was so burnt, we could not eat it. I left a note on the bill about the terrible service/food. The next morning, our butler brought us a apology card from the manager and a complimentary bottle of champagne. This place is to far from Cabo to go grab a quick bite to eat. Round trip taxi is $70. So, unless you rented a car, you will go hungry!”

The residence is lovely and well appointed. There is daily housekeeping. If you have a group and want to have a spacious area of your own, it works well. The resort is large. If you want to spend time on the ocean, the residences are a bit inconvenient. It works better, If you're happy to just look at the ocean, There are several restaurants that are ok on the property, nothing special. There seems to be more of a time share mentality than at some of the other resorts in the area.”

"Where the kings and queens stay!"

This is the same review I will post on trip advisor, so pardon the casual tone. Overall, a fantastic experience. You will feel like royalty. The Residences units are the top end of a resort/time share community. The general amenities cater to the resort and are very good quality, well maintained, freshly decorated/landscaped, lots of rocky coast views, and reasonably good restaurants, etc. That portion by itself would not disappoint at all. The Residences are in their own gated enclave on a hill marked "private property". The units are free-standing townhomes with about 10 feet between them. Each has a private back yard (yet neighbors can see from balconies, so no buff bathing) with a pool, hot-tub, "gazebo bbq pit" with fridge and sink, lots of cushioned lounge chairs, and a great gas fire pit. Each of the 3 rooms had a large, full bath with soaking tub, The master bath had an optional outdoor shower, which we indulged in every day. There were 3 powder rooms, including one by the pool (super convenient). The unit we were in had two stories (as depicted in the virtual tour which looked swank because it is swank). The expanse of the resort property was pretty large with 3 major buildings (phases 1, 2, and 3), The residences were apart from that but walkable. However, they offer free, on demand rides on golf carts (up to 7 people per ride), GET AN INTERNATIONAL ADD-ON for your US phone so you can text/call your butler whenever you need anything, like a ride, or reservations, or a shuttle into town, or arrange an outing. The butler, Josue, was VERY responsive. The staff was really on top of their game. We got the all inclusive package, which was far easier than going out for groceries or to restaurants for every meal. Plus, drinks were part of the package, so we had champagne with breakfast, cucumber margaritas with lunch, wine/beer with dinner, and a 20 bottles of beer (and soda/water) in the fridge, restocked every day. When you book the 3 BR Villa unit, don't let them talk you into stepping down to a 2 BR with free dining all week. I cannot speak to the other units, but you would really miss out on how nice the 3BR villa is. The resort common areas were pretty nice, as depicted on their website. While we spent a few hours on our patio every day, we'd also go down to the resort pools to meet other people, so we enjoyed the best of both worlds. The dinning package included free shuttle to several restaurants in Cabo on the marina. On the way back one night, we asked the shuttle driver to drop us at the gate to the villas rather than the main lobby. A woman in the back heard the request, then commented "The villas? That's where the kings and queens stay!" She was soooo right. If "upscale" or "luxury" are part of your search phrase, then this place is for you. ”

Fabulous Hacienda Encantada

I just returned from the resort 'Hacienda Encantada." We stayed in the area known as the residences which was a three bedroom home with its own pool and Jacuzzi with a fabulous ocean view. The amenities throughout the property were perfect and I must say that the overall service from the butlers and housekeeping was the best I've ever experienced. Joshua and his staff were readily available 24 hours a day, assisting us with tours and anything else desired. This was my fifth trip to Cabo in the last six years and I can truly say that it was the best accommodations and service I've experienced. Would highly recommend anyone considering staying there. Beautiful Unit

The unit we stayed in was beautiful and just recently completed. Amazing for our older kids as it had a pool with a swim up bar, hot tub, and plenty of lounge seating for our family of 6. The unit was very comfortable and well appointed. Well stocked kitchen which we made good use of and a great bluetooth audio system. The housekeeping crew was amazing and cleaned up the whole place everyday. Our view from Villa 12 was quite nice as there were no villas in front of us. Villa 10,11, and 12 all had that view, while the rest basically just looked right into the front of the 2 bedroom villas. Request 10-12 if you can! The staff of the resort seemed quite overwhelmed. They wanted us to use our butler to organize everything including transportation to and from the main resort, but he was managing too many guest to be very useful. The golf carts were nice when you could get one, but the wait was sometimes as long as 45 minutes so we often just walked to the main hotel, restaurants, and pools (about 10 minute brisk walk). The food at the hotel restaurants was marginal and very over priced, so we hired a private chef to cook in our room a number of nights. We had much better luck hiring a chef from one of the food trucks on Medano Beach versus using the Hotel Hacienda chefs who essentially just brought catered meals from the restaurant and reheated them in our unit. There is no ocean access anywhere near the hotel. The best option was Medano Beach in downtown Cabo. There are a couple beaches up the coast (Chileno and Palmilla), but we found Medano to be the most fun with all the vendors and food right there. There is a shuttle service at the resort that takes you into Cabo, but it runs only every 2 hours and costs $10 per person - we were very happy that we rented a car and found it very easy to get around and park within Cabo. Overall a great trip for our family once we got settled in. Once we embraced the idea that we were staying at a private house versus a resort complex, it was wonderful. ”

We celebrated a friends 60th birthday at the residences at Hacienda Encantada. Hired a private cook and server. The cost was very reasonable and the service was excellent. Daily maid service was excellent, Ruth was very friendly and accommodating. Yoshua was very helpful and attentive to all our needs. i found it was always better to go through your concierge for best results. I agree the front desk personnel were not as accommodating, for a resort of that caliber. Overall the property was fabulous and we look forward to staying there again.”

Great week in Cabo!

Great property. The view from the house looking South toward the Sea of Cortez was fabulous. We had a private pool, a butler (Yoshua), daily maid and turn down service. Everyone was great. The residences are located further away from the main resort, pools, and restaurants, but all you had to do was call the front desk and they would immediately send a golf cart to pick you up. We also walked down to the main resort some and I think that will get easier to do once they complete the next phase which is supposed to have a direct access from the residences to the main pools (I think). Given the location of the house, we were glad that we did not purchase Hacienda Encantada's all-inclusive meal plan. We thought that all of the restaurants were very good, but our family of four never would have eaten enough to make the packages worth it. The restaurant prices were reasonable and the service was excellent. Having our own kitchen and barbecue grill was nice and we cooked in a few times. As is sometimes typical in places that aren't regularly owner occupied, the kitchen was under-stocked with cooking supplies. It was sufficient to make do, however, and we left Yoshua with a list of items that would be useful to add. Even though we were staying through 3rd Home, they asked us at check-in if we would participate in their "residence club" sales presentation. We agreed, and they gave us some nice freebies for doing so -- dining credits and a complimentary sunset boat tour. It was not a high pressure sales pitch and we would recommend that you do it. Finally, we rented a car and were glad that we did so. We also used the van service one night, but we were glad that we had our own car. Overall this is an excellent property and my family would do the trip over in a heartbeat. ”

5 Stars for the accommodations. Villa, private pool, private hot tub, view of the ocean all are outstanding. 1 star for customer service. The concierge and front desk operation are completely unresponsive and often unavailable both during our stay and in the month since we left trying to get people there to return voicemails and emails regarding a couple of personal items we left behind in the villa and a billing question. ”

Great family spring break!

We had a lovely stay at Hacienda Encantada! The villa was spacious, comfortable and very nicely decorated. Our favorite was the outside living area. The pool, hot tub and grill area were great and we also used the fire pit more than I would have thought. It was nice for evenings and early morning coffee at sunrise. The resort has great amenities and we really enjoyed the restaurants there when we stayed on property. We were particularly surprised by the quality of food at the poolside restaurant/bar, which also had beautiful ocean views. The staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating. The property is about 10 minutes from downtown Cabo so it is quiet and relaxing. They have a shuttle that runs every 2 hours that goes downtown if you want to visit busier Cabo, which we did several times. We rented a car for the week because it was about the cost of taking the airport shuttle each way. If you think you will be staying on property for most meals, inquire about the All-Inclusive option. We didn't do that so I can't give a recommendation but thought it could be a nice option. Our favorite excursion was the camel ride on the beach...fun for kids and adults! I would highly recommend this property but there there are a couple of things worth mentioning. The residences are a hilly walk from the resort. You can call the front desk and they will pick you up in a golf cart but you have to be a little patient. We actually enjoyed the walk but sometimes took the golf cart. At check-in, they also try to set an appointment for time share sells, offering resort discounts if you sign up for the presentation. If you have absolutely no interest, let them know day one. They can be aggressive:) It is a great property and we would love to return!”
