September 2025Fantastic Stay in France!
We had a wonderful week at Mas De La Source Farmhouse! The communication was great, making it easy to enjoy our stay. We felt safe while at the house due to the house being within the property gate and fence. The kitchen was well supplied, and other amenities were as noted in the post. While it feels removed, it is a 15-20 minute drive to nearby villages (a winding 15-20 minutes). If you are looking for a quiet, charming, restful stay, this is your spot!”

June 2025Stylish Country Retreat
The owners have done a wonderful job restoring this ancient farmhouse. With 4 BRs, each with full bath, it would be great for a family or group. However, I was alone and loved it -- just never used the 2nd level which is just the three guest rooms. Alyerac (not to be confused with Alleyrac) is so rual as to have no stores or gas stations, which you can find in nearby La Begude de Mazenc. There are many adorable villages to explore -- Le Poet-Laval, Dieulefit and Tauligan are must see. Also the three castles in Montelimar, Grignan and Suze-la-Rousse. There is a cool prison tower in Crest, and a short distance from that an amazing Michelin rated restaurant called Garenne in Livron-Sur. Very close to the house are the picturesque ruins of Prieure. Worth a stop on way toBordeaux is Eglise de Comps. The farm is surrounded by oak and truffle groves and lavender fields. Beware of unpaved roads that have only names and not numbers. Some cars will not make some of those. (Leaving the farm turn left not right out of the gate. The near by "shortcut" your navigation might suggest called Ancient Aleyrac Road is treacherous and very rocky.) The pool/spa is great for after a day of hiking or touring. The kitchen is well equipped and there is an outdoor BBQ. Although this is a rural retreat, it is luxurious and idealic. Highly recommended for an off the beaten path experience.”
