Description

La Peña Rock House

This luxury renovated 6 bedroom, 7 full bathrooms, 6,000 sq. ft. villa built in Modern Mexican architecture style, is situated at the top of a mountain on the side of a rock formation that has pre-hispanic significance and is a spectacle by itself. Some religious rituals were performed at this unique original site called "La Peña". The villa is just a few meters from this huge rock that is really impressive and also works as a private central heating system for our home. It absorbs the sun's heat during the day and expels it during the night, so the villa is always warm and comfortable, as if it had central heating. So there is no humidity, even in the winter.

The colourful house now has six large bedrooms: one master bedroom with 2 chezlounges and balcony, two more with king size beds, one with a balcony; each one with full view to the lake, mountains and the magic and traditional town, each one with full bathrooms with showers. A brand new bedroom has 3 twin beds with ensuit badroom. These are on the second floor and the other 2 are on the first floor, one with 3 twin beds and the other with bunk beds and an additional bed, each one with a full bathroom with shower.

There is a double height living room with a beautiful chimney and an indoor dining room for 12. There is also a large second family media/game room, independent of the sitting room and has its own complete bathroom with shower. All dining, living, and media/game family rooms have folding glass/wood doors that give complete access to a wide long corridor/terrace. The view from every room is outstanding. The kitchen is fully equipped.

The outside corridor connects to a covered terrace with sitting and dining areas (for eight) with a brand new grill, where you can spend long afternoons enjoying family meals and watching beautiful sunsets. At a lower level, the villa has a huge terrace with another dining square table for 8 with its big umbrella on the side of the beautifull infinity pool and hot tub (both heated with solar energy) where you can enjoy the breathtaking view. There are 4 sun loungers and a large armchair with 2 other individual armchairs and a huge umbrella.

From all terraces and house spaces you have magnificent views of the lake, mountains, and the old town.

The house is part of a 5 house compound, each one with its own private terraces, pool areas, garden and parking space for two cars; in addition, there is a common huge garden with playground area and a big tumbling trampolin, automatic doors, etc.

FULL TIME STAFF: Housekeeping is included (with suggested tip). Depending on the number of guests more help can be arranged if needed. Also 2 gardeners, pool and jacuzzy keepers and a porter are 24/7. A cook can br arranged if desired.

This comfortable and beautiful luxury villa, because of its location, surroundings, breathtaking views, big open spaces, calm atmosphere and mild weather, will be an unforgettable experience for all of your family members and friends.

The town of Valle de Bravo is a unique landmark, because of its beauty, its people, its weather and all the different activities, sports, beautiful and varied shops you can choose from. You can decide to stay at home away from everything or enjoy 3 splendid golf courses (18 holes each) with Spas, swimming pools and tennis court. At the town center there are nice restaurants, excellent shopping, local arts & crafts, art galleries, furniture, candles, gifts for everyone. If you like sports you can rent a boat, water ski, kayak, sailing, horseback ridinng, mountain hiking, practice mountain bicycle and more. Valle de Bravo is a world recognized site for hang-gliders.

During the months of November - February you can visit the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary, and experience the incredible presence of the Monarch Butterflies migrating all the way from Canada, during the cold season. The exact location varies every year but is about half an hour from the town center. It is a marvelous experience, you can walk or visit it on horseback.

BREATHTAKING LAKE & MOUNTAIN VIEWS FROM LA PENA ROCK HOUSE

This amazing home is designed to take in amazing views from every room of the house overlooking Avandaro lake in a mountain setting. The host Margaret was extremely helpful with all her information provided along with excellent porters and house keepers. The infinity pool and jacuzzi were wonderful too. ”

Back Again and Just as good the Second Time!

We visited La Pena for the second year in a row and loved it as much if not more this time! Martha is a great host, and Hilda, Nico and Fernando did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Hard to beat sitting in the hot tub overlooking the lake with the nightly spectacular sunsets!”

Beautiful view, elegant interior design

We stayed a week in mid Janaury 2020 in this lovely house. It was very relaxing after a hectic but fulfilling 6 days in Mexico City. The two make a great combination. The owners are very helpful, we even met for a glass of wine prior to our stay, in Mexico City. We drove in a rental car quite easily in about 2 hours from Mexico City. The town is small and attractive, mostly the tourists are local, so it felt like an authentic experience. We enjoyed a boat ride on the lake, and especially the trip to the butterfly sanctuary to see the Monarchs. In January the daily high was 25 to 26 Celsius, so very comfortable. pleasantly cool at night. Hilda, the housekeeper was very helpful, and would prepare dinners for when we didn't want to go out. Mostly we enjoyed relaxing poolside enjoying the view. The owners' attention to interior design was exemplified by their collection of architecture books we enjoyed perusing. Highly recommended.”
